The Vandebharat Train Shed ICD Shed project involved the design, supply, and erection of Proflex roofing, with a specific color matched to the Vande Bharat Train for seamless branding. The roofing system was designed to be 100% leak-proof, maintenance-free, and bird nuisance-free. The project was completed efficiently, incorporating additional features like turbo ventilators and skylights for enhanced functionality and ventilation.
The project involved a vast roofing area of 17,826 sqm, covering buildings with dimensions of 23.54m span and 615m length. Despite receiving only a 45-day railway block from the Railway Authority, our team completed the roofing installation in just 33 days, overcoming time constraints and logistical challenges. One of the main obstacles was the 21-meter height of the steel structure, which required precise planning and execution.
India's first Vande Bharat Train Shed, including both the pit line and sick line, was a landmark project awarded to Deputy CPM Mr. Anant Kumar by the Railway Board. The shed was officially inaugurated by Mr. Ashok Kumar Mishra, GM of Western Railway, marking a significant achievement in India's rail infrastructure development.
